The exhibition and its opening are opened to all ages. Access to the exhibition at the main building for wheel chair users, strollers, and people with difficulty moving is through Klub AVU. The building of Modern Gallery is wheelchair accessible. We want to make access possible and easy for anybody who wishes to visit the exhibition, for more information on access or if you need help accessing the exhibition, don’t hesitate to contact the Academy.
Letošní výstava diplomantů Akademie výtvarných umění v Praze byla pojmenována Nejkrásnější věk (The Most Beautiful Age) v návaznosti na stejnojmenný film Jaroslava Papouška z roku 1968. Víc než padesát let stará komedie se odehrává mezi tehdejšími studujícími, vyučujícími a modely sochařského ateliéru na AVU.
Letos, kdy si Akademie výtvarných umění připomíná 220 let od svého založení, se výstava koná přímo na půdě školy, a je tak i příležitostí k reflexi současného stavu v kontrastu s minulostí i výhledy do budoucna. Využili jsme tak možnosti zeptat se studentů a studentek, co je čeká v profesní i osobní rovině poté, co opustí školu.
Padesát sedm studentek a studentů malířství, sochařství, grafiky, intermédií, nových médií i architektury a restaurátorství zhodnotí výsledky svého studia v podobě závěrečné diplomové práce.
Výstava diplomantů je okamžik jejich proměny v profesionály a poslední příležitostí experimentovat, čerpat a posunout dále tradice AVU. Nyní musí sami navázat na znalosti, technické dovednosti, schopnost uvažování, trénovanou citlivost i rozhled, které získali při svém studiu. Doufáme, že je celé AVU i každému absolventovi a absolventce jasné, že ten nejkrásnější věk není v minulosti, ale že na nás čeká v budoucnosti.
