The exhibition and its opening are opened to all ages. Access to the exhibition at the main building for wheel chair users, strollers, and people with difficulty moving is through Klub AVU. The building of Modern Gallery is wheelchair accessible. We want to make access possible and easy for anybody who wishes to visit the exhibition, for more information on access or if you need help accessing the exhibition, don’t hesitate to contact the Academy.
Výstavy diplomantů a diplomantek Akademie výtvarných umění v Praze se v roce 2018 účastní 56 mladých umělkyň a umělců – 29 mužů a 27 žen. Věkově je tato skupina homogenní – 19 z nich se narodilo v roce 1992, dalšími nejčastějšími roky narození pak jsou 1991 a 1990. Drtivá většina pochází z Čech, objevují se však mezi nimi osoby slovenské či jiné národnosti. Výstava se koná ve třech budovách Akademie: v Hlavní budově AVU a jejím okolí své práce představí 40 diplomantů a diplomantek, v Moderní galerii 12, ve Škole architektury tři. Jeden diplomant se rozhodl vystavovat mimo školu.
Letošní diplomanti a diplomantky absolvovali 17 různých ateliérů AVU. Práce z ateliérů restaurování a ateliéru architektonické tvorby svým charakterem odpovídají specializaci těchto škol. Diplomanti a diplomantky z ateliérů malby, kresby, grafiky, sochařství, ateliérů intermediální tvorby a ateliérů nových médií někdy překračují výrazové prostředky, které jsou s jejich školami běžně spojovány. Nejméně 18 z nich jako své diplomové dílo předkládá malbu, přibližně 15 diplomových prací má charakter prostorové instalace, videoinstalace nebo instalace využívající prostředky nových médií. Jako sochařská díla lze popsat sedm prací. Na výstavě dále najdeme díla z oblasti kresby, grafiky a performance. Mezi diplomanty a diplomantkami se 4 × objeví křestní jméno Ondřej, 3 × Martin a Markéta, více než jednou jména Barbora, David, Jakub, Jan, Lucie, Nikola a Vojtěch. Jedna třetina názvů diplomních projektů obsahuje slova označující místa, jedna pětina názvů obsahuje slova označující osoby a vztahy.
