The exhibition and its opening are opened to all ages. Access to the exhibition at the main building for wheel chair users, strollers, and people with difficulty moving is through Klub AVU. The building of Modern Gallery is wheelchair accessible. We want to make access possible and easy for anybody who wishes to visit the exhibition, for more information on access or if you need help accessing the exhibition, don’t hesitate to contact the Academy.
Když byla výstava diplomových prací před třemi lety „vyhoštěna“ z Veletržního paláce, Akademie výtvarných umění pro ni hledala nový formát, který by jí i v omezených prostorách školních ateliérů dodal zajímavý rozměr. Od roku 2018 tak má podobu kurátorovaného projektu, vždy založeného na novém konceptu a doprovázeného řadou akcí, jež z něj dělají malý festival svého druhu. Letos jsme se výstavu rozhodli doplnit další vrstvou, když jsme práce letošních absolventů obohatili o ukázky diplomových prací několika „hostů“ – úspěšných umělců, kteří školou prošli v posledních padesáti letech a často zde pak dokonce působili nebo působí jako pedagogové. Ty jsou v drtivé většině případů zcela neznámé i pro zasvěcené.
Smyslem této „intervence“ do diplomantské výstavy tedy je ještě o něco více zvýšit její atraktivitu, obrátit na ni – a na letošní diplomanty – pozornost širokého publika, a tím jim napomoci při vstupu na uměleckou scénu. Je však pravdou, že mnozí z nich se už v posledních letech prosadit dokázali a patří mezi známá jména současného mladého umění. Přizvané „hosty“ jsme se snažili v první řadě prezentovat tak, aby se jejich díla nerušila s díly diplomantů, o něž jde na výstavě především. Snad se v několika případech podařilo i přes odstup řady let, který tyto práce dělí, najít určité zajímavé příbuznosti a vazby.
